The mower could be better for the price .
This isn`t the best mower for it`s price, doesn`t start always like they said. Is quite heavy even for an aluminum housing, I was hopeing my wife could handle this mower but still is a problem. L Bartz
1979-2009 30 years with Lawn-Boy - Still running Strong!
Bought this Platinum series for my 23 year old son as a gift for his first house and yard, he has used my 1979 Lawn-Boy since he was able to mow - he loves the Sens-a-Speed system and the easy starts, he used my non-self propelled standard Lawn-Boy to mow his new yard (slight hill in back) and he was all smiles after using this new mower - he let me "push" it once, if you call it push - it matches your speed as well as anything could - we looked at others and Toro/Lawn-Boy have the best handle design and easist pivot and lift to turn with aluminum deck as you can find anywhere. Most other mowers are just to heavy if you have a small yard and need to turn.
Even though the old Lawn-Boys were two-cycle (gas-oil mix), these new four-cycle mowers seemed to have power and mulch really well. All in all, a good value for the money!
Worst Mulching Mower I have Ever Owned!!!
I bought this to upgrade a 14 year old Craftsman that was showing its age. My chocies were this and the Honda HRX217HXA. The sales guy said it was much cheaper, and would do what I needed it to do.....MULCH!
Got it home, and went right to work. Within 15 feet I knew I had made a mistake. It started to vibrate and acted like the blade was going to fly off. I leaned it back, and it started spewing out chopped up grass for nearly 20 seconds. I tried everything, raising the deck, higher front or back and vise versa.... overlapping and cutting less than 1".... nothing worked.
Today, I took it back, got the Honda and I AM BACK TO MULCHING!!!
I have to say, the Lawnboy Personal Pace system is really cool, and I will miss that, but the deck/blade design is a mess!!! If you plan on bagging or side chute...it may be the mower for you, as these features worked perfectly, but FORGET MULCHING!!!

Overall - good product/happy
I've had my Solaris for a couple of months now and have been able to mow my St. Augustine grass multiple times. Overall this mower works ok in the stock configuration. I have around 7,000 sq. ft of yard and it was able to mow it all and still have battery life to spare (yellow lights still on). I do have to say that I'm not impressed with the mower's blade. I put on the bagging attachment the other day and it hardly filled it. The stock blade just doesn't have enough suction. I went out and bought a replacement blade and it made a world of a difference. Now it has plenty of suction but it uses up a lot of battery as well. I went through one set of batteries to do just my back yard (just under half of my yard). I guess it's a good thing I bought a spare set of batteries. Even having to use 2 sets of batteries I'm still happy with my purchase, maybe I can find a blade somewhere in the middle. My last mower was a reel mower that was awesome for the grass but it was too time consuming and was too difficult to use if the grass was too long.
If you don't have a large yard this mower is for you.
Expensive Disappointment
Despite charging the batteries for the directed period of time, the mower simply did not work. The first attempt, the charge lasted long enough to mow about 40 feet of my yard. The second and third attempt, the charge lasted 60 seconds, then 10 seconds, respectively.
Needless to say (but I'll say it anyway), I'm very disappointed. I was looking forward to having a quieter, exhaust-free mower. I'll try a different brand next, but this one's being returned.
Side note: I've just begun the return process. So far, it's very easy. Amazon is having UPS pick up the mower (at no cost to me) instead of making me lug it anywhere to be shipped.
Good on the second try.
We were disappointed that the first mower did not start. after a phone call to trouble shoot, it was decided that returning it was the only option. The return process was easy and the second mower works great.

Mower = Awesome! Fan = Trash!!
I'm a big fan of the electric mower. I love using mine for what it provides in ease of use and the environment.
I do not recommend buying this lawn mower however.
1. There is a plastic fan attached to the blade that breaks.
2. I wish I had bought a cordless one.
The main reason I would not buy this lawn mower is there is a fan underneath the chasis connected to the blade.
This fan is to cool the system and balance the blade. The problem is, it is plastic. Brittle plastic.
I've had my MM575 for about 6 months. Within a week, a dog squeeky toy got under the mower and broke some fins off the plastic blade. It started a mild wobble witch worried me, but was not drastic enough to warrent ordering a new fan piece. This last weekend, a twig broke the fan in half. Not a log, not a rock, just a simple twig. Now the balance is out of control and I will not use it for fear of the blade flying off. So I have to either order a new plastic fan, or buy a different lawn mower. I did look and the cordless ones from Black & Decker do not have a plastic fan on the bottom, so I am thinking about getting one of those, but do I really want to buy a more expensive product from a company that puts brittle plastic on the underside of a lawn mower.....?

The cord can be quite the pain. Moving, pulling, tugging, getting it out of the way.
Good for small yard like mine
I have had it and no problem with it. but too early to say some hing in either case I'm happy.
Light and easy one handed mower
I got this second hand from a friend who upgraded to the cordless model. It was already 2 years old when I got, and I've had it now for 4 years.
In all the time I've had it all I've had to do is replace the blade as it wouldn't sharpen anymore. Yes the cord does take sometime to get used to but after the first couple of uses you quickly work out a system that lets you get around your lawn without any tangles.
It easily cuts my lawn no matter how long I leave it. Last night I cut my back garden for the first time this year, after leaving it working on other back garden projects. In places it was about 7-8inches thick and it never bogged down, cut everything on the first pass. The motor keeps on trucking, it is quiet enough that I can have a conversation with my kids. It leaves my lawn looking just as neat and manicured as my neighbours who all use petrol mowers.

Cuts grass great
You have to get used to mowing with a cord, which is challenging at first. But this cuts through thick grass just as well as my old gas powered mower did. I also do not have the same grass/gas odor after mowing. I love it! My yard is a quarter acre, which probably makes it much more manageable than a larger yard with this would be.
better lawn mowing
This is my third Black & Decker electric mower/mulcher lawn mower. The first was well used when I gave it away while I was temporarily waylaid with breast cancer. The second one I purchased new and used until it just did not want to go anymore. The third one I recently purchased through Amazon.com because Sears had discontinued it. I enjoy yard work and am thrilled when I find the exact right machine with which to work. For lawn mowing, this is it. I want no other!

Exactly As Advertised
This lawn mower is everything it is advertised to be. Cuts my small 170 sq ft lawn perfectly, and mulches the grass nicely so there is no need for raking the grass after mowing. Easy to assembly and very easy to move around. I also liked the fact that the manual told you what setting to put the cutting height on for each types of grass. Electric cord was not a problem for me, never got in the way of mowing. I am very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a lightweight electric mower.

love it!
I owned another brand electric mower and liked it very much. It was easy because the handle flipped making turns easy. This WORX handle does not flip but I love it. The grass "bag" holds a lot and I use the grass clippings for deep mulch. It is the only thing that keeps this Virginia "wire grass" out of my plants. It cuts a smaller swath but is so lightweight that it's great!
Great Little Lawn Mower
This Mower is a great little unit. I have used it 4 times already and it is a pleasure not to have to deal with gas cans. I fold it up and it fits in my small deck storage box, so no need to find a spot in the garage and track in any remaining grass.
Poor Service
The on-off switch broke on the Worx mower in its second year of use. Worx can't or won't give an update on if or when a replacement switch will be available. Don't buy it - if it breaks you can't get spare parts.
